Supported Employment Services
NCI Affiliates bids on,
and has been awarded, numerous contracts with local
and state employers to provide a range of services that
includes landscape and janitorial maintenance, laundry
service, direct mail services, bottling, packaging and
assembly and clerical support. Additionally, we operate
two retail thrift stores (Paso Robles - Village Thrift
I, and Atascadero - Village Thrift II) at which our
clients gain work experience. These contracts with employers
such as the City of Paso Robles, Cal-Trans,
Firestone Brewery, Camp Roberts and Paso Robles Inn
enable us to offer quality services to the employers
at the same time we are providing valuable job training
to our clients. Creating this "win/win" outcome
is the focus of the staff members working at the job
sites to build the confidence and know-how of the client
crew, while at the same time ensuring that the terms
of the contracts are fulfilled. Clients that steadily
improve at their job in the program may ultimately advance
to our Individual Placement program in which they are
employed by an outside employer (such as Walmart, Ross,
Target, Albertsons, and others), receiving training
from NCI as needed to support the required job skills,
and to continue necessary confidence building and positive
reinforcement for the client.

Community Living Services
For many people with disabilities, living independently
has been an unobtainable goal. NCI's residential program
provides services to individuals who wish to live
in the community and participate in all of the activities
our county has to offer. NCI staff assists individuals
in leading the quality of life they have always dreamed
of having. Our program offers assistance to people
with disabilities across a broad range, including
person-centered planning, interest and skills assessment,
leadership and advocacy, independent living skills,
housing and roommate search, home maintenance and
safety, mobility training, personal hygiene, meal
planning and preparation, money management, medical
management, assistance with SSI/SSA and more. We plan
and coordinate social activities, and we answer a
need for the good health of clients with our total
wellness activities.
